'A Dresser' has wrapped!

We just finished shooting our first short, A Dresser.

Logline: A trip to a childhood home for a son and his partner becomes mired in recent trauma and uncomfortable family dynamics.

Writer/Director Jeff H. Davis has had this idea in his mind for years, since images from a friend’s story sparked his imagination. The foundations of the story have changed quite a bit, but at its core it is about 3 relationships: Patrick and Sam’s tense romance, Sam and Jack’s forced maternal intimacy, and Patrick and Diana’s unresolved grief.

A Dresser is a snippet of a relationship at a crossroads, where an attempt to increase emotional intimacy goes horribly wrong. Patrick and Sam both find themselves in terribly uncomfortable situations, but the complexity of those situations make it difficult to condemn anyone to blame.

We cast Laakan McHardy (Madame Secretary) as Sam, Nick Piacente (Italian Turtles) as Patrick, Margot White (Blue Bloods) as Diana, and Brandon Chosed (Lincoln Center’s The Nutcracker) as Jack. We shot in Germantown, NY at the perfect house over three days in January 2019 and depended on so many family members and friends to make the production happen, and of course our talented cast and unbelievable crew.

The film is in post-production now and features a song by Leggy from their most recent album, Let Me Know Your Moon. On to festivals, fingers crossed.
